Hekman Upholstery Fabric Cleaning Codes

The following fabric cleaning codes are found on the back label of Hekman Upholstery Fabric Swatches and in fabric descriptions online at www.hekman.com

W = Water Based Cleaners 
Easy to clean. Spot clean with a water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. You can use a brush to agitate the cleaner or even an upholstery attachment on a carpet cleaner. Be careful to avoid over-wetting the stain. Not machine-washable. 

S = Dry Clean Only
You can spot treat stains with a water-free solvent or dry-cleaning product. Use solvent cleaners in a well-ventilated room and keep away from open flames. Avoid using cleaning products containing carbon tetrachloride, as it is highly toxic.

W/S = Combination of Dry Clean and/or Water Based Cleaners 
These fabrics can be spot cleaned with upholstery shampoo, foam from a mild detergent, or a mild dry cleaning solvent. Pre-testing is especially important to determine the right solution. For dirt stains contact a professional to clean fabrics.

X = Vacuuming or Light Brushing Only
These fabrics cannot be cleaned with water or solvent cleaners.
